Which League do I want to be in?
TASK provides 3 different leagues of soccer.
Our Recreational Program welcomes players from 4U through high school and emphasizes skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and fun in a positive environment. Most recreational participants come from the Seymour, Black Creek, Nichols, and Shiocton communities. Teams practice once a week with games another night during the week. 4u thru 10u just play in house and don't travel. 12u & up travel for half of their games (4-5 games) from Green Bay to Oshksoh with the rest of the games played at home.
For players seeking a more competitive experience, TASK offers Academy-level soccer for 7/8U and 9/10U players. Academy teams are led by paid coaches who focus on player development and competitive growth.
Teams practice 1–2 times per week
Games are played against surrounding communities throughout the Green Bay to Oshkosh areas.
Teams usually play in one tournament in June.
Fall season runs from late August through late October (no games Labor Day weekend)
Spring season runs from late April through late June (no games Memorial Day weekend)
Players may choose to participate in either season or both
TASK also offers Classic-level soccer for players 11U and older who are looking for a higher level of competition. Classic teams are led by paid coaches dedicated to continued player development and competitive play.
Teams practice 2 times per week. They are off the months of November thru January with some open gyms happening in February/March depending on gym availability.
Games are played both in Seymour and throughout the Green Bay to Oshkosh area
Teams usually play at least 1 tournament. They can play more if the team agrees on it and want to pay for it themselves.
Teams participate in both fall and spring seasons
Fall games are typically played on Saturdays and/or Sundays
Spring games are typically played during the week
Our Academy and Classic programs are open to players from all communities.
So Which League is right for me?
Each league is a little different, so the right league depends on you.
Rec leagues are significantly cheaper.
Classic & Academy leagues require more of a time commitment and typically play against stronger competition
Remember, each league is lots of fun, but the time and monetary commitments are different. Joining either league does not guarantee success or failure at the high school or college level. The odds of a child playing professional soccer from Seymour are about the same as winning the Powerball, no matter which league they join. Make the decision that is best for you and your family. If you need more information, talk to any member of the TASK board.
